“The choice was easy” is the phrase you want to hear your clients say when you sign them up for their first appointment. In today's attention economy, where people have less time and patience to read paragraphs of info about your business, having an introduction in video form is even more powerful than it was just a few years ago. Reducing the friction a prospective client may have to getting to know you and your business is more valuable than you might think. A video can get the important selling points across quickly and efficiently, requiring less time and effort from the viewer.
The average person is bombarded with information on the internet, it’s estimated they see between 6,000 to 10,000 ads every single day. The prevalence of false information and the threat of being scammed on the internet has made most people cautious of almost any marketing. When people see a real person with emotions and a reputation to uphold, that kind of vulnerability on your part, signals to the viewer to let their guard down a little. The more someone sees you on camera speaking to them like a real person, the more comfortable they become with you.
I say go for it, the more time you spend speaking directly to your potential clients, the more they will want to work with you. The more you film yourself speaking to your audience, the more comfortable you will be making content for yourself. It’s simple to grab your phone and make a quick video to share on social media, which adds more to the collection of content you have out there, works as part of your marketing funnel to attract new leads, and remind existing clients to reconnect with you.
When you want to give yourself a raise. People are willing to value your services more when they see a valuable aesthetic. Businesses that spend the most on marketing are often the ones who make the most, because they have invested in their marketing to show potential clients just how valuable they are. When someone goes to a website looking for a product or service and sees no video or a cell phone video, the viewer is likely to assume the business is just starting out or doesn’t take their business seriously. A lack of professional video shows that a business isn't yet ready to invest much into its own marketing, and thus has less value in its industry. Many businesses don't fail due to a lack of quality product or services, but a lack of effective marketing. While we mostly think of first impressions on dates and interviews, the first impressions you make as a business will either attract or repel a potential client. When someone sees your branding and content, they will often make quick assumptions about your business; When you don't address these assumptions, it will increase their resistance to working with you and will likely lose their business before they even have the opportunity to know how great your work really is.
Did you know that Youtube is the 2nd most used website for searches, behind Google. The fact that people use a video website to search for information, makes putting content about your business on youtube that much more valuable. The businesses who are not only doing SEO(Search Engine Optimization) on their website, but on youtube and other social media, are getting a lion's share of the leads when it comes to people searching for information to solve their problems and improve their lives. It is no mystery that as a holistic healthcare practitioner, you have to bear the brunt of educating potential clients on holistic solutions to their problems. The Allopathic Medical Industry has had a massive influence over the mass media and education systems for decades, which has marginalized holistic alternatives. We have to bear the brunt of educating people more than most industries, because the cards are stacked against us. We can however, effectively use the tools of technology to inform people of the benefits of holistic medicine. The internet has democratized the distribution of media to the world, which makes digital assets that much more effective in marketing a business.
